  • Prerequisite: Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) License in New Jersey

🗓️ Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Medication Fundamentals & Legal Foundations

  • Learn drug classifications, dosage forms, and medical abbreviations

  • Understand legal responsibilities, scope of practice, and state regulations

  • Review ethical standards, controlled substances, and resident rights

Week 2: Administration Techniques & Documentation

  • Practice safe administration of oral, topical, ophthalmic, and rectal medications

  • Master the 6 Rights of Medication Administration and infection control procedures

  • Document medication administration accurately on MARs (Medication Administration Records)

Week 3: Vital Signs, Observation & Emergency Response

  • Measure and record vital signs prior to and after medication administration

  • Recognize and report adverse reactions, side effects, and medication errors

  • Respond to emergencies using approved protocols and documentation

Week 4: Supervised Lab Skills & State Exam Prep

  • Complete hands-on medication passes in a simulated lab setting under RN supervision

  • Conduct peer-to-peer skill assessments using checklists and real-world scenarios

  • Review key exam topics and take practice tests to prepare for the NJ CMA Certification Exam
